Dhaka airport to Gulshan, Banani & Baridhara

All our apartments are in Gulshan, Banani and Baridhara, among the closest neighbourhoods in central Dhaka to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (DAC). Here is how to get there.

Distance and travel time

The airport is roughly 10 to 12 km by road from our homes. Traffic is the big variable: late at night the drive can take around 30 minutes, while weekday rush hours (mornings and early evenings) can stretch it to an hour or more. Allow extra time when you head back for a departing flight.

Your options

Uber or Pathao

Ride-hailing apps work at the airport and are usually the simplest choice. Set up the app and a payment method before you fly, and use the arrivals pickup point. Cash is widely accepted.

Airport taxi

Taxis are available from the official counters inside the arrivals hall. Agree the fare before you leave the counter.

CNG auto-rickshaw

The green three-wheelers are cheap but slow in traffic and not ideal with large luggage. Agree the fare before you get in.

The Dhaka Elevated Expressway

The expressway runs from the airport area south towards Banani, Mohakhali and Farmgate, with ramps on Kemal Ataturk Avenue in Banani. A toll is charged at entry. Drivers will use it when it saves time.
